About Us
Building Confidence, One Badge at a Time.
Our Mission
To raise the bar in grassroots sport by accrediting independent academies through rigorous verification, making safety, trust, and development accessible to all.
Our Vision
A UK-wide network of trusted sports providers, backed by clear standards, giving every parent and player confidence—one badge at a time.
Our Story
Backed by the Badge was founded from a simple observation in grassroots sport: while passion and talent were abundant, a consistent standard of safety and professionalism was not. Parents had no easy way to know if a club was operating with the correct insurance, safeguarding policies, and qualified coaches.
We wanted to change that. We created a straightforward, affordable, and robust accreditation platform designed for the realities of independent academies. By verifying the essentials, we empower well-run organisations to showcase their commitment to excellence and give parents the peace of mind they deserve. We believe every young player deserves a safe, trusted space to grow, and we're here to make that the standard, not the exception.
